Job Description:
B Squared Media, LLC is seeking a Weekend and After-Hours Community Manager (“Weekend CMGR”) who is not only social media-savvy, but also reliable, responsible, curious, and proactive. You should understand the ins and outs of community management, ask smart questions, and thrive in a team environment. We value problem-solvers who are thorough, independent, and strong communicators.
This role is structured around professional availability. If you elect to monitor a client’s social channels during a specific interval (like 4–9pm), you’re paid for the actual time spent monitoring, checking in, or actively responding—not just for time logged in or left idle, but also not just for “in the platform” moments either. Most of our partners check in every 30–60 minutes during those windows, and billing typically reflects their active participation.
This role is contractor (1099) status and supports social media engagement on behalf of B Squared Media and its client projects every:
• Friday from 2 PM–Midnight EST
• Saturday from 9 AM–Midnight EST
• Sunday from 9 AM – Midnight EST
• Flexibility to cover weekday shifts is a plus.
As a Weekend CMGR, you’ll manage conversations across various platforms—Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.—with a “Think Conversation” mindset that prioritizes empathy, clarity, and responsiveness.
• *PLEASE NOTE: Even though this job is remote, our projects are all located in the United States. Therefore a U.S. resident will best serve this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with Our Community:
• Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and posts across platforms.
• Offer support, solutions, and positivity while engaging in real-time conversations.
• Confidently navigate Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and others.
• Understanding platform nuances (e.g., Reels vs. Stories) is a big plus.
Feedback & Insights:
• Listen actively to user sentiment.
• Summarize key takeaways and suggest improvements to the Account Manager.
Collaboration & Communication:
• Communicate with teammates daily while on shift (project managers, account managers, and colleagues).
• Share important community insights—comments, escalations, compliments, FAQs—per our “Rules of Engagement.”
Process-Driven Execution:
• Follow detailed client processes and project guidelines.
• Meet or exceed 30-minute response times.
• Accurately tag and label responses using our reputation management platforms.
Qualifications:
• Skill Set: Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business and/or related fields. Knowledge of Sprout Social and Emplifi a plus. Remote/telecommute work experience a plus. Remote/telecommute work experience a plus.
• Flexible Availability: Must be able to work primarily on weekends with availability for occasional weekday shifts. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to work during nonstandard business hours, including weekends and holidays (we are open 365 days a year!)
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage in fluid, natural conversations, understanding the context and nuances of each message. Effectively communicates in both verbal and written form. Detail-oriented with excellent grammar and spelling.
• Empathy & People Skills: A genuine desire to connect with others, demonstrating kindness and understanding in all interactions.
• Perfectionist Attitude: Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Community-Centric Mindset: A passion for building and being part of a team community, showing up consistently and committed to the work. Must be a flexible and a strong team player.
• Social Media Savvy: Baseline knowledge of various social media platforms and their functionalities. 1-3 years of experience managing social media platforms or communities for brands
• Tech Requirements: Must have access to a working computer and a reliable internet connection.
Other Responsibilities:
• Create, update, and complete project tasks on time in Basecamp (project management system). Some of these tasks will need to be completed during the week.
• Track time by project task for invoicing in Harvest.
• Attend meetings with team or project leads for updates, reporting, and check-ins. These meetings are during the week.
Stay up to date on process changes, communication and new tasks before your shifts begin.
Next Steps:
If candidate seems like a good fit for B Squared, the conversation will be moved over to email where a few case study questions will be completed. Once completed and answers approved by hiring team, we will schedule a Teams call, which will be about 30 minutes in duration. If the first call goes well, we will schedule a more formal interview.
